Ellis got his start as an actor and playwright on New York’s downtown theater scene and performed in several of his own plays, including Mr. Pizza Man (FringeNYC). He created the one-man show An Inquiry into Human Understanding, which he performed at Ars Nova, the Peoples Improv Theater, and Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. His comedy and music duo Ellis & Park (with Matt Park) hosted the long-running variety show Of the Moment at the PIT and also performed at Joe’s Pub, Comix, and SketchFestNYC. Ellis has been featured on the Risk! live show and podcast, Sirius XM Radio, and in the alternative comedy showcase Andy Kaufman’s Funhouse.
