ACTING RESUME

Tim Ellis is a comedian, writer, and actor living in Brooklyn. In his “one-man variety blog” he explores the human condition in words, photos, songs, and videos. A stand-up and monologist whose work has been compared to that of Stephen Wright and Spalding Gray*, Ellis can be seen performing around NYC. As an actor, he recently appeared in The Dictator (with Sacha Baron Cohen), on Law & Order: SVU, and the Onion News Network.

Ellis got his start as an actor and playwright on New York’s downtown theater scene and performed in several of his own plays, including Mr. Pizza Man (FringeNYC). He created the one-man show An Inquiry into Human Understanding, which he performed at Ars Nova, the Peoples Improv Theater, and Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. His comedy and music duo Ellis & Park (with Matt Park) hosted the long-running variety show Of the Moment at the PIT and also performed at Joe’s Pub, Comix, and SketchFestNYC. Ellis has been featured on the Risk! live show and podcast, Sirius XM Radio, and in the alternative comedy showcase Andy Kaufman’s Funhouse.

A graduate of Wesleyan University, Ellis also studied at the UCB Theater, the Atlantic Theater Company, and with master clown Christopher Bayes. He hails from the Pine Tree State.
