Tim's comedy has been described as "Socrates meets Seinfeld" by the Village Voice, and Backstage has praised his "cleverly satirical" writing. Martin Denton of called Tim’s one-man show "downright hilarious" and said, "in finding the surreal in the extremely ordinary, it brings to mind the sensibility of Steven Wright and...reminds me of the work of Spalding Gray...incisive, humorous stuff.”

Comedian Tim Ellis co-hosts the weekly stand-up show Manifesto! at the People's Republic of Brooklyn. On this blog, he frequently posts videos, songs, and other musings. As an actor, he recently appeared in The Dictator, on Law & Order: SVU, and on the Onion News Network. After graduating from Wesleyan University, Tim acted in many downtown New York theater productions, including his own play Mr. Pizza Man (FringeNYC). He created the one-man show An Inquiry into Human Understanding, which he performed at Ars Nova, the Peoples Improv Theater, and Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. With the comedy-music duo Ellis & Park, Tim appeared in the long-running shows Of the Moment and An Evening with Ellis & Park at the PIT, as well as at Joe’s Pub, Comix, and SketchFestNYC. He has been featured on Risk! and Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction (live shows and podcasts), Sirius XM Radio, in the Andy Kaufman Award competition, and the NY Funny Song Festival. Tim studied improv at the UCB Theater, acting at the Atlantic Theater Company, and physical comedy with master clown Christopher Bayes. He hails from the Pine Tree State.
